Hurricane Ike Creates a Path of Destruction!
Hurricane Ike Saturday hit the Texas coast at Galveston as a strong Category 2 Hurricane. Hurricane Ike sustained winds of up to 110mph and created a storm surge that peaked at 15 feet at Port Arthur, Texas. Hurricane Ike will go down on record as one of largest Hurricanes on record, with a hurricane force wind spread around 115 miles out. Sunday Rescuers were combing the coast looking for survivors, with the death toll around 28, and close to 2,000 people rescued they are calling this the biggest search and rescue operation in Texas.

Hurricane Ike Geographically bigger than Katrina!
As people evacuate Houston Texas Friday, Hurricane Ike Looms closer. Currently at 1:00a.m. CST Hurricane Ike is traveling west north west at 12mph according to the National Hurricane Center. Hurricane Ike has maximum sustained winds of 100mph, and is currently still considered a category 2 hurricane. Some sites on the web are reporting that Hurricane Ike will be geographically bigger than Katrina, and also some are comparing Ike to the Hurricane that hit the Galevston Texas Area in 1900. The 1900 Hurricane in Galveston is said to be deadliest natural disaster in U.S. history, claiming somewhere between 6,000 - 8,000 Galvestionian residents and destroying more than 3,600 buildings.

Texas Mandatory Evacuations, and Voluntary Evacs!
Today according to Rick Perry; Texas Governor, Counties of Brazoria, and parts of Matagorda County, Texas are under a mandatory evacuation! Counties including Galveston, San Patricio and Victoria counties and parts of Jackson County, and the city of Corpus Christi are under a Voluntary Evacuation at this time. Hurricane Ike is currently in the Gulf of Mexico and has strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane. Hurricane Ike has reportidaly by the National Hurricane Center sustained 100mph winds up from around 80mph earlier today(sept.10). Hurricane Ike is expecte to rise to a Category 3 Hurricane by sometime today (Sept 11).

Hurricane Ike beats up Cuba, Ike headed to the Gulf!
Hurricane Ike is getting ready to submerge into the Gulf were it is expected to gain intensity to a category 2 and maybe a category 3 hurricane! Texas readies evacuation order just in case. Tuesday officials from Texas were readied to send an evacuation order to millions of residents! They readied 1,000 buses to move poor and elderly residents who own no cars. Lots of Residents are very nervous not knowing were Hurricane Ike will land but are ready for any actions that they will need to take to ready themselves. If Texas does decide to evacuate this will be the first mandatory large scale evacuation in south texas history.

Hurricane Ike rips up Grand Turk Islands! Where will Ike Hit the U.S.?
Hurricane Ike ripped up the Grand Turk Islands in the Caribbean Sunday, Sustaining 135mph winds! Hurricane Ike tore through Haiti, and Cuba destroying there already soaked crops. Forecasters don't know where Ike will hit the U.S. but most calaborate that it will probably hit more western around the Texas coast. Hurricane Ike is expected to clear cuba sometime tuesday, to move west to the Gulf of Mexico to regain intensity to a Category 3 hurricane.

Hurricane Hannah Brushes East Coast, Ike Cat 4 headed to Florida!
Hurricane Hannah Brushed the east coast yesterday causing only minimal damage. Hurricane Hannah made its way up the east coast at 28mph . Hurricane Hannah is expected to reach New England today.
As of 11p.m. according to the National Hurricane Center Ike was moving west south west at around 15mph. Ike will be near central Bahamas and north coast of eastern Cuba tonight and early tomorrow. Ike has had winds now to date around 135mph. Also to note, Florida's Govener has issued a state of emergency for Hurricane Ike, Ike is expected to reach florida's coast on September 9th.

Hurricane Ike Now a Hurricane!
According to various websites around the web they are reporting that tropical storm Ike is now categorized as a Hurricane. Now that Hannah has killed 61 people in Haiti it is projected to strengthen back up into a Hurricane after it moves thursday through central and northern Bahamas. Hurricane Hannah winds 80mph
According to the weatherchannel Hurricane Hannah is hitting winds currently around 80mph. Currently is projected to hit Southern North Carolina. If you take a look at our updated Hannah tracker, you will see that looks to be on the path to also hit some of florida.
